First time in my life I tried white water rafting. The guy in the booking office still recommended Shotover River instead of the calmer Kawarau, which I thank him very much for. This was the perfect amount of adrenaline rush, still feeling safe.
The whole experience was very professionally run had some nice adrenaline rushes and truly enjoyed the beautiful scenery (we were lucky to have sunshine).
Our guide was a nice guy, managing our raft and team well (none went into the water). The funny guy in the bus on the road to the canyon was also professional, creating a positive relaxed atmosphere which is quite important as the many safety rules and other info to remember could be a bit overwhelming otherwise.
Afterwards I felt like after a good roller coaster - wanted to go again! And I would rather do that than pay similar amount for a 3 second bungy...
